Safe in the arms

In my doctor's office, there is a picture that I love. A newborn infant is being cradled by his father. You can't see the father's face, but his uniform shows that he's a U.S. Marine...and I often think about how grateful I am 1) for my real father and 2) for my heavenly Father, who is not only tender, but tough as nails, able to defend me against any threat, no matter how small I am. And right now, that's a beautiful promise.
