A chronicle of God's faithfulness to Christine and David Harms, as they follow Him.

Christmas at the Harms house
Merry Christmas, team! This is the view over my sewing machine, where many a Christmas present is hurriedly being finished this week. David is eating peppermint bark and watching Star Trek, rain is steadily falling outside, and all is right with the world. We are rejoicing this year for the time with family and friends as our lives are about to change...a lot. They've changed already...you'll notice the bare futon frame--we're sleeping on the mattress, and I'm too lazy to move it every day. But the tree is up, and it reminds us that some things don't change--Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Also unchanged are the reasons He came: "You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin" (I John 3:5). It's still a mystery to me, but one that I hold on to, because it's the only hope I have. We hope that all of you can celebrate that same hope--that the sinless Christ died for your sins that you can know God, the greatest gift ever given.
We're thankful for your friendship and teamwork--more grateful than ever, as the time approaches for us to leave. We're at 95%, and departure will be here before we know it! Please pray for our program manager as he begins to search for a house for us, and pray for our packing and moving decisions to be wise.
Love,
Christine

Nebraska
Well, we got back from Nebraska. We had a great time with some relatives that I (David) haven't seen in a long, long time!

Now maybe we won't get malaria!
Woo hoo! I just ordered us an insect-repellent treated mosquito net on REI.com...we're getting closer...plus, I stopped by Sendthemforhim.com first, so they'll donate a percentage back to our ministry.
Which reminds me: if you haven't finished your online shopping yet this year, we'd love for you to shop through our site! It's free, easy, and they donate a percentage back to our ministry that will help us with our outgoing costs. Here's a link, in case you're interested:
David and Christine's Send Them for Him Site
Please remember to be praying for our trip to Nebraska on Friday!! We're hoping the Lord will bring us some new ministry partners!

Happy birthday, me!
I read this verse this morning, and it seemed appropriate:
Isa 46:3-4
Listen to Me, O house of Jacob,
And all the remnant of the house of Israel,
You who have been borne by Me from birth
And have been carried from the womb;
4 Even to your old age I will be the same,
And even to your graying years I will bear you!
I have done it, and I will carry you;
And I will bear you and I will deliver you.
NASU
He's been good to us, this year and always.
Thanks for praying for us!
